Here are 5 of the best soccer drills for kids to practice at home, perfect for all skill levels. These are the same types of drills we teach at 2AddictiveLifestyles Training Centre in Cheltenham, where we focus on building confidence, technique, and fitness in young players.
1. Wall Passes
What it helps:
First touch, passing accuracy, ball control
How to do it:
Use a solid wall or garage door. Pass the ball against it with the inside of your foot and trap it when it comes back. Alternate feet and aim for 20–30 clean touches in a row.
✅ Tip: Challenge them to beat their score each day!
2. Cone Dribbles
What it helps:
Close control, speed, agility
How to do it:
Set up 4–6 cones (or water bottles, shoes, toys) in a line. Dribble the ball in and out, using small touches and both feet.
✅ Tip: Time the drill and try to beat your personal best each round!
3. Juggling Challenge
What it helps:
Ball mastery, focus, coordination
How to do it:
Start with one bounce: kick the ball up, let it bounce, then kick again. As they get better, try removing the bounce. ✅ Goal: Work toward 5–10 consecutive juggles — and don’t worry, it takes time!

4. 1-Minute Speed Dribble
What it helps:
Fitness, dribbling under pressure
How to do it:
Mark two points 5–10 metres apart. Dribble as fast as possible from one end to the other for 1 minute, turning at each end.
✅ Tip: Focus on keeping the ball close while staying fast.
5. Toe Taps & Ball Rolls
What it helps:
Footwork, rhythm, coordination
How to do it:
Tap the top of the ball with alternating feet (toe taps). Then, try rolling the ball side to side under your feet.
✅ Start with: 30 seconds of each and build up!
